Stacy Ever After
Hi, I’m Stacy!
A quiet, dreamy, introverted girl from loud ass Miami, FL who didn’t belong there. So one day, without telling anyone, I packed all my stuff and moved to Orlando to live my Disney fantasy!
Education
Bachelor’s in Psychology – Florida International University
After high school, my parents moved back home to Nicaragua leaving me stranded in the good ol’ USofA to figure it out for myself. I did the typical thing any Miami student does after graduation, first go to DADE, then go to FIU. With a lot of JODIENDO in between, it took me like 6 years to graduate bro!! I must have majored in every subject from architecture to mathematics, to astronomy, to engineering. Fuck that, I never went to school, I lived my life on South Beach. Eventually, I needed to get serious, so I got a real jobby. This job started the course towards my destiny where I declared my major in Psychology while barely graduating with a 2.5 GPA
I specialize in ABA Services providing in home support to those on the autism spectrum.
Experience
Behavior Technician/ ITDS
I began working with children on the autism spectrum and that’s when I realized I really love this job! I started in private clinics where I was trained in DTT and VB. Eventually I made it to Miami Children’s Hospital, Dan Marino Center where I learned to involve more play. Once in Broward County, I was offered an opportunity with the Early Steps Program where I would be providing more parental support in the home setting. This is where I blossomed!! I became a contractor. I accepted my own clients, I made my own schedule, I had more freedom!! I began to do ABA therapy my way, with less table tasks and demands and added more floor play! And the children responded!! Thats when I realized I have an issue with authority and I didn’t want ANYONE telling me how to do my job!
My dream has always been to have my own clinic.
Education
Master’s in Developmental Psychology – Nova Southeastern University
In order for me to have my own practice, I had to go back to school, but how?? South Florida was so expensive, I didn’t have the support to go back to school, I had a child and bills to pay. So I moved to Orlando, where the pay was the same but prices were half of Miami’s, so I was able to pay my bills with PT work. So 10 years later, I went back to school to get my Master’s, and this time I graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
Experience
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Not being a good test taker, I took me several tries to get licensed, but I finally did!! Now, with over 20 years of experience, I manage my small Private Practice with 10 therapists where I focus on supervision and parent training.
Interests
Creating Content
I got divorced during covid and as a way to cope I made videos on social media. Learning how to edit distracted me from a lot of things. During this isolation period, I realized that I myself am neurodivergent with BPD. A lot of my behaviors from childhood started to make sense.
